If you burn data to DVD, CD or Blu-Ray, you will appreciate the features in ImgBurn. You probably already know the benefits of image burning. You can put a lot of data into a comparatively small file, and the image is immediately ready to be burned to disc or DVD.
When you start ImgBurn, you’ll choose the mode you want to use.
The “Read” mode will read the data from a disc and create an image file from it, which is exactly what it sounds like it would do.
You should use “Build” mode when you want to create an image from data files on your own computer or on your local network; this is useful when you want to burn your own files to an image.
“Write” mode, as you would expect, writes a chosen image file to CD, DVD or Blu-Ray disc.
Once you’ve created your image using the “Read” or “Build” mode and burned it to disc using “Write” mode, you can then use “Verify,” which does several things. The most basic verification check is to make sure the disc you’ve written is 100% readable. You can also instruct ImgBurn to check the new disk against the image file it was burned from, to insure that all of the data was written correctly.
ImgBurn does not support all drives, but you can test your drive, using ImgBurn’s “Discover” feature, to determine the disc types it supports and the speeds it can achieve. This is helpful in making sure that your drive will work with the settings you’ve configured in ImgBurn and that you’re using the right kind of discs for your drive.
Lightweight, easy to use, fast and offering a drive analysis tool to insure optimal burn configuration, ImgBurn is almost the perfect image burner. If it supported all drives, it would be essentially perfect.
ImgBurn is a lightweight CD/DVD and Blu-ray burning application that allows you to transfer files and folders to a disc. With ImgBurn, you can create DVD’s to play on your TV, data discs to store important information, and backup discs of your computer’s OS to help reformat your computer if something goes wrong. The application is easy to use, and has the options to write files or folders to a disk. ImgBurn also allows you to create an image file from a disc so that you can make copies of a disc you already have, and it can compress your files/folders into an image file.
